Here's How Aeration Septic Systems Work...
If you’ve had a new septic system installed since 2009, you have an aeration septic system, also known as an aerobic system.
This type of system has an aeration tank. The aeration tank reduces the necessary size of leach fields and breaks down sewage waste further through air infusion. Your aerobic septic system also needs regular maintenance.
Although the aerobic system is more efficient in breaking down sewage, pumping out your aeration tank is necessary every two to three years. Just like your septic tank, sludge will eventually build up and need to be pumped out.
